WHISKERS & WINGS · RESCUE JOURNEY

Rescue is a journey, not a single moment.

First, we learn what is happening and whether an animal is in immediate danger. Next comes a safe response, stabilization when appropriate, and veterinary assessment. Treatment plans can include parasite care, vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, and recovery. When an animal is ready, foster care builds confidence and stability before we seek a responsible adoptive home. Each case is different, and assistance depends on capacity.

A little compassion makes a big difference.

Our work begins with understanding each animal's circumstances, finding the safest next step, and helping our neighbors make informed decisions. From Farmersville to McKinney, Princeton, Anna, Melissa, and the wider Collin County area, we believe kindness should be practical, thoughtful, and centered on each animal's welfare.

Whether you are looking for advice about a stray kitten, interested in adopting, or trying to find a qualified specialist for a fragile small animal, we want to point you toward responsible care. Our primary mission remains the rescue and recovery of vulnerable cats and kittens.

OUR APPROACH · WHISKERS & WINGS

What happens after a rescue request?

We begin by asking where the cat or kitten is, whether it appears injured, and whether it is truly alone. Once a safe plan is possible, the next step is an appropriate veterinary assessment. Treatment and recovery differ for every animal. Some need vaccinations and parasite care; others need surgery, nursing, or additional time in foster care. Adoption only comes when the animal is ready.
